For RAOB 6.8 users. The latest version contains serial numbers beginning with 6857, so if the first 4 digits of your RAOB serial number are less, you should download the latest program update using RAOB's Help menu (RAOB Program Updates) for the download link, or just use this direct link.

RAOB Update. The RAOB program locator file (RAOB.STN) has been updated with the addition of 74003, KDPG, Dugway Proving Ground, UT.

RAOB Beta. The RAOB 6.9 Beta now has a new Mountain-Wave display option that includes Froude Number analyses, which are important in forecasting enhanced mountain rain/snow events, mountain gap winds, and downslope (Foehn, Chinook, etc.) winds. Here is the new Froude analysis page from the RAOB6.9 User Manual. RAOB 6.9 can also now export the following parameters: Froude Number, Brunt-Vaisala frequency, Virtual Potential Temperature, and Frost Point Temperature. If you want to use the RAOB 6.9 Beta program now, or are not sure of your eligibility, just contact wxx@raob.com and provide your RAOB serial number.
